The waterfront of Antikyra

A stay in Livadia opens several different days out. Choose the landscape or story you want to explore, then return to town for dinner and the evening. The journeys below are alternatives, not a single circuit.

Panagia Skripou in Orchomenos

Ancient monuments and a living town

Choose Chaeronea for the Lion and archaeological museum, then Orchomenos for the Tomb of Minyas, the theatre seen from outside and Panagia Skripou. The Springs of the Charites bring water and a slower pause into the day. Set the order around museum and tomb opening times.

The Ancient Boeotia route explains the choices. Gla and the Kopais landscape can be a separate outing; they do not need to be squeezed into the same afternoon.

Hosios Loukas monastery

Byzantine art, remembrance or the coast

Make Hosios Loukas the focus for mosaics and monastic architecture. Distomo is a separate stop for remembrance, deserving time and attention. If you prefer a lighter day with a waterfront meal, choose Antikyra.

You can combine selected stops on the Hosios Loukas–Distomo–Antikyra route, but do not feel obliged to visit all three. A swim at Agios Isidoros needs its own time and suitable conditions.

The square in Elikonas village, also known as Zeriki

A village day on Helicon

Choose Kyriaki, Elikonas village, also called Zeriki, or Agia Anna. Travel by road, walk around the settlement and leave time for a meal. Check connecting roads before adding another village; the names on a map do not make a simple circular route.

For poetry and an archaeological landscape, choose the Valley of the Muses as the day’s purpose. Mountain walking is a separate plan requiring a current route and suitable preparation.

Arachova below Parnassus

Towards Parnassus

The Arachova and Delphi guide offers another direction from Livadia. If the archaeological site is your priority, let its opening times shape the day and keep the town stop optional. Davlia deserves a deliberate detour, rather than being assumed to lie on every route to Delphi.

Before leaving your Livadia base

Check your route, the weather at the destination and the opening of your priority sight. A car gives flexibility; if using public transport, confirm the actual stop and return service. Build in time for the drive back, then choose how to spend the evening in Livadia.
